Media Relations & Executive Visibility

The head of media relations at a national, tech-forward health plan went on leave during one of the most consequential periods in the company's history. Earnings were coming. A major product launch was underway. Policy scrutiny was increasing. And the organization needed to expand its external voice beyond a single spokesperson.

I stepped in as senior communications lead to maintain momentum and elevate the impact of the media relations program during the gap.

Working across the communications, policy and marketing functions, I developed executive briefing materials for top-tier media, investor conversations and industry events. I prepared multiple executives, including the CEO, CFO and growth and policy leaders, for interviews, panels and keynotes. I shaped core messaging around the individual market, ICHRA and consumer-driven healthcare, ensuring consistency across every external touchpoint.

Pitching strategic media opportunities

I identified and pitched strategic media opportunities across traditional, trade and emerging platforms. Two stand out. I secured and prepared the CFO for his first major market-facing podcast appearance on Brew Markets, positioning the company's financial story for a broader investor audience. I also supported the placement and preparation of the CEO for a nationally syndicated NPR feature, extending the company's reach well beyond traditional industry and financial media.
